know this; This creature is the Bringer of Death. He'll never eat, he'll never sleep,
and he'll NEVER stop.
Averti! She hissed, mother nature herself. She's scolding me again. This time, I killed another one of her god damned creations. It was just another annoying being, taunting me for thinking I am better than them. Well, I just proved my point, yet again. It's better without them here, dear, I assure you. The ones high on themselves. They take up your precious oxygen you use to tend your plants, they need to learn their place anyway. Killing them off will not teach them their place! All she can do is whine and complain, mourning the death of her precious child. That's all she can do, and she knows it. She has nothing on me. I am one individual that will not be swayed by her wantings. The one mountain that will not be moved, the 118th element to the periodic table. The deadly one. She sent her whirling winds at me, rustling my mane and giving oxygen to my immortal lungs. I snort, casting the unneeded carbon into the atmosphere.
I swear, if you- "Silence." I commanded, and all was still. Her nagging voice all but subsided, and the winds ceased to blow. I unfolded my wings from their perfect hiding spots, outstretching them. A series of small cracking sounds could be heard as I did this, they needed that stretch. I looked to the skies, and almost on command, the gale assisted; my wings catch the small draft and off I go. Like a gorgeous Lamborghini, I zip through the atoms, defying gravity at ease. My pupils enlarged, as my visions zoomed in on a petite brook that was occupied by a couple idle equines.
Averti. Now she pleads, hesitantly and lowly, her voice creeps into my head. Begging me not to interact with more of her creations. With a dismissal of her warning, a took a dive. Similar to that Busch Gardens commercial- the one where the boy is gliding through the sky before a sudden stop; he's inverted to be facing head first, and then released to plunge straight down. Just like that, except as I came within feet from the surface of earth, my wings flexed and caught my massive carcass; I land with a rippling thud on the lithosphere. I left my wings about, shameless for a moment. I landed in a part of the river that was uninhabited. By nature, or by pure coincidence? Nature. I growled, striking the damp emeralds beneath my behemothic cadaver with my hoof. I am your cursed nightmare, your damned destroyer. You will not hide your pathetic, disrespectful creations from me! My nape arched with wicked exquisiteness, my tassels nearly covered my apex. Chin tucked neatly to my broad chest, a hulk of muscle standing statue-still. There is an efficient reason as to why Mother Nature despises the fact that I am here. A well-known curse, I am. That was released by her own masterpiece. And now, I am here; The Bringer of Death. I await a perfect side-kick, to raid this mortal world with until we've fulfilled our duty here. Then, we will proceed to the next generation. I will make her like me, and Nature will regret her own existence.

Large hooves struck the sod with such an amount of power that it sent fault lines spiraling deep into the earth. Her massive, glorious immortal body weaved skillfully through the trees, and the smell of rain was in the air. Dark clouds chugged lazily around in the sky, being of a purple-black tint. It looked like a massive storm was near. Brawny pistons pushed with an extraordinary amount of force, sending Aurai forward at a gallop so swift that her form was blurred. The forest was emptied of all creatures, no sound but her own steps and occasional breathing would disrupt the silence. Short, choppy mane flipped from side to side with each of her enormous strides. Though it used to be long and lustrous, she had plucked most of it off with her teeth since the burden of it outweighed the beauty. As quick as Aurai had picked up the speed at which she was moving at, she halted, the earth groaning as her legs pushed against it. Acoustics flickered to the north, the direction of which the storm-carrying clouds were moving in from. Disgusting. She thought, chapped lips pulling apart, exposing blood-covered ivories as she scowled at the coming weather.
Storms, so predictable. There would be a few rumbles of thunder, an hour or so of sheeting rain, and then it would be gone. Tornadoes sometimes sprouted from the clouds. They, too were quite disgusting. Tornadoes took lives, more pointless killing that she could have achieved if it weren't for them. Her legs began moving again, this time she moved at a rather sluggish pace, she took time to look at everything around her. And there was a break in the trees ahead, opening up into a meadow of emerald grass which was more or less unappealing then a human eating dirt, and there was a creek. The creek flowed easily through the meadow, rolling over the rocks embedded into the ground below it. That waster too, was nasty and unappealing. Her system screamed for something different. Blood and flesh. Her ears longed for the sound of tearing skin, screaming and helpless idiots who had dared to cross her. And then, just as she broke into the meadow, a dark shadow cast on the grass by something in the air, billowed over her body, and the shadow landed just one hundred yards ahead in the creek by more unimportant equines.
Of course, to Aurai, all of them were unimportant. Nothing mattered except the key to her survival. Death, but never her own. When you were immortal you could do pretty much anything you wanted, at one dark time in her life she had jumped off of a cliff, trying to end herself. Nothing, not even a scratch had marked her surface. And soon, she had realized that she should not treat her perfect immortality as a curse, but as a right. And she could take charge of the world, because she was a goddess and everyone that was even the least bit unappreciative of her way of life would become her meal. And still, they all just sat there, tasty, with blood rushing hot under their skin, just waiting for death to find them. And it would never come quick enough, because as far as Aurai's knowledge went, being skinned alive was quite uncomfortable. And then her attention was claimed again by that shadowy equine with the huge wings. Her teeth ground together with an audible growl. She stepped forward, nearer to the horse with each step. She said nothing, because the sneer that expressed itself on her face was enough, and she knew that the stud would know that. She was only standing here for the sake of boredom.
The stud was exquisite even in stillness, his body a motionless statue radiating the bitter taste of immortality. His wings were extended in a shameless attempt to terrify everybody, he seemed smug. But Aurai was not even phased, fearless as she was. All of the other inhabitants of this ugly land were petrified and trembling, running for cover. But as far as they could go in an attempt to escape, she knew that they would not live much longer. This beast standing in front of Aurai seemed to be of the same mindset that she wore. She took in a deep, un-needed breath, and let it escape with a low hissing noise as she pointlessly awaited a response from the corpse of the undead being that stood in the water.

Yes. No. Maybe... I don't know? Can you repeat the question?!
My mammoth figure advanced forth into the shallow (shallow according to me and my nineteen hands, I'm not sure what shallow would mean to you) river bed. As my ebony shanks waded through the liquids, the aqua retreated in a flurry of diamond droplets back into the depths of the stream. Holding my place steady, my massive wings swooped once to create a strong gust of wind in both directions. The trees ducked and swayed, the leaves were uprooted and dispersed unnaturally; the grass blades bowed in respect and kissed the ground. My eyes flashed open, and my shoulders rolled as the pinions became one with my spinal column; There was a presence nearby. No, not nearby; right around the bend. Hiding? Nay, watching.
Your not the boss of me now, your not the boss of me now;
I advanced forth into the blue crystals, the waters soaking my extravagant feathers and drenching my tail. Tips of my mane were damp as well, but nothing could flaw my knightly appearance. Then it hit me. Why isn't the nagging woman warning me not to harm the varmint just beyond the foliage? "Why, now, are you silent?" Only because you've asked of it, Averti. "That's bullshit and you know it." Then silence. Suddenly, there was a longing to see the individual that invaded my presence. Miss Nature is acting weird, more terrified than normal. Maybe this was the reason she so pleaded me not to inhabit this area? Excitement sprung across my face as this idea lite up, there's something: that, if put together with my power, will strengthen me. Oh lord. "Keep your god damn mouth shut." I could have sworn I heard a whimper, and her whereabouts disappear abruptly. The mare appeared from the entryway, a gorgeous perlino that stood around, eighteen hands, maybe? Her forelock cascaded beautifully and practically matched the length of her mane. I kept my stature, sure of myself, and never faltering. The hissing sigh was a give away: apparent that she needed no oxygen. Aside from the fact that her smell resembled my own. "Another undead?"
and you're not so big.
I expanded my nostrils, but took no breath. I remained stationary, not adjusting my stance to face her. This was her, the partner in crime, the one that would surly rule with me. No doubt about it. I dipped my skull to dampen my muzzle with the flowing gully; my attention finally rested on the deviless. "What is your name, mistress?" My voice rumbled forth, deep chords creating a rather fluent but masculine ring. It's been a while since I've referred to anyone as.... anything. It's been awhile since I've actually acknowledged someone's existence. Unless you count killing them as recognizing, then sure. I raised my cranium back to it's original poise, icy azul orbs resting on the dove.
Life is unfair.

Aurai stared at the stallion opposite of her with an unfathomable expression in her eyes. Suddenly, her attention was captured by the advancing choke of black clouds that hovered over the north part of the meadow now. Maybe the few fleeing equines that she had seen from the trees weren't only running from this beast that stood close enough for her to stretch out her muzzle and feel. Maybe they were running from the storm too but, in this instance, Aurai knew that her and the stallion did not have to run, because they could not be harmed. Why, you ask? Because they are both immortals, the undead, ones who could not ever perish. The worst of lightning, a strike of it to their body wouldn't even make one of them flinch. A tornado? It couldn't even lift them off the ground if they wished not to go.
Maybe the pack of horses were scared of Aurai and whomever this horse across from her was. Could they tell an immortal apart from a mortal the way that she could? Even if they couldn't, the way that she and him were put together - tall and brawny, and him with wings.. That was probably terrifying enough.
And then she was interrupted, her thinking was, by a low rumbling voice that could have been thunder. No, it was him. "What is your name, mistress?" He said it with such pride, and when she turned her ice blue eyes to meet his stare, he had the oddest look in his eyes, like he was appraising her. Not like she had never done it, but it was a little bit odd when it was being done to her. Maybe it was because of the creature bringing the stare, or maybe it was the sense that she couldn't tear from her brain that these two would one day be a dangerous pair. "Aurai." She said, her voice wild sounding, deep but still feminine. "I could ask the same question, stallion." She spoke the last word more harsh then intended. This was the most she'd spoken in one hundred years. It was weird, but she had not even one thought about killing this creature, he was fascinating. She took one step closer, their muzzles were brushing together.

"What is it you are so scared of?" I honestly want to know what the bitch is so obviously silent about. There's something about this girl here, this angel dressed in white. I could almost envision her with wings of nearly my size, tremendous white ones. Oh, what an angel she'd appear to be. But, I know better than this. She is no angel. She's a wolf in sheep's clothing. It's very surprising her porcelain coat doesn't have a red hue. She is not right for you. She's your lesser, you may dispose of this one. "You speak out your ass, wench. Tell me the truth." A pause, and then silence. You can't really punish Nature, can you? Only by hurting her precious children, that is. I raised my fore flint and struck the water. You know, when you try and walk through water the current slows you down and if you try and move quickly, you can topple over? And if you try to stomp in the water, it always winds up being so light because of the water's density? Well, when my hoof went through the water's current, there was such a force packed behind it, that the water had absolutely no effect and the sod beneath the surface shifted; just a bit. Eep. Still nothing. No answer. She's scared shitless of me meeting this being, which as I said before, can only mean a few things.
As her chords hit the air, and the sound waves traveled to my ears, they erected. Aurai, mmm? I scanned down her torso once more before she questioned my own calling. My face contorted, almost troubled. What would she think when all of Nature responded to my very name? Amusing that she gets all bent out of shape, but how can she repeatedly call my name yet when i say it everything goes into chaos? Ah, Aurai may as well know. "Averti." My throaty voice rumbled forth like thunder, and the gray clouds above us that had been circling our area produced the first clash of lightning. Zig-zagging across the sky, and the winds picked up; the trees bending at their will. The river began to crash forth, my stony corpse the only obstacle that couldn't be moved from it's pathway. My azure eyes dilated and focused on the albino mistress as our muzzles met for the first time. I inhaled her scent, tickling my senses- storing her in my memory for all eternity. My nostrils expanded, my nape arched, and my neck at full "buff," my stance was outstanding. I relaxed my muscles just a bit, before continuing with my questioning. "Where is your equal?" My wonder was, if I had to kill her lover before I could be with her. Growl. "What? Has your scared turned to terrified?"

As the slow procession of storm clouds started speeding up, Aurai glanced to Averti again. The sky was quite an interesting thing to watch, but it was equally as difficult to keep her eyes off of him. To tell the truth, Averti was downright gorgeous, though most would say terrifying. Aurai was (to say the least) intrigued. The wings that seem to have grown out of his shoulder bones were like the wings of a bat, but much larger, that and they could hold ten thousand times the weight. His blue eyes were striking and they had a glint of them that screamed Danger, yes, this is what drew Aurai in. That and, oh i don't know, he was the freaking undead. Just like her. Animals like Averti and Aurai were anything but common, and that was another thing that could just terrify a mortal to no end. The strange look that now possessed Averti's features made Aurai think that there was more going on then the strange conversation between the two of them. Could he be having a totally separate conversation in his head? That was something to think about. Just as she was contemplating leaving, the stallion spoke his name. Averti. Simple enough. Interesting enough. Far more original then her own name, Aurai . And another odd fact, a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky just as his name was being said, and the wind started to furiously blow across the land the way that a broom sweeps a wooden floor, picking up all loose objects. Not Averti and Aurai , though. They stayed put.
Aurai's eyes were now alight with curiosity, puzzled as she was by nature's response to his name. It was alright with Aurai , nothing inside her was infuriated by just hearing it. Whatever. She shook her perfectly colored perlino neck, letting go of whatever suspicions arose at nature's response to Averti speaking. Where is your equal? And as the words rolled off his tongue, the wind continued to lash out at the trees, the thick trunks snapping at it's will. Again, her stare ended up being pointed at the furious, black abyss that was the sky. "I have no equal." She stated through her teeth.
It was true too, none could equal Aurai. There were many who were lesser, but none were greater. Averti could become her equal, over time. He would have to of course work for it though. No great prize goes unpaid for. Tsk Tsk, we couldn't expect anything else, could we? I'll answer that myself. No. No, we couldn't. Hind pistons began moving, front legs staying planted where they were, Aurai began turning so that her body was positioned next to his, just a couple steps forward. Slowly, she lowered herself into the water and their shoulders were now touching as well as their noses. Aurai closed her eyes and inhaled.

As the winds, the rains, and the god damned forestry acted up; I growled from deep within my diaphragm. What the fuck, all of a sudden it's a hurricane? No, this was not coincidence that she is overreacting at this point in time. Oh, no. This is the one. This is my beautiful, untouchable soul mate who will rule the mortal lands with me. I have no equal. The play on words was amusing at first, because she had no equal. But she had a greater. Little did she know, that I am her greater. But soon, if she succumbed to the fact that I am greater, I could make her my equal. Nature would respond to her name just as she responds to mine. I rose a single brow at her answer, and then wiped my facade clean of emotion. "Cease." I whispered under my breath, the hissing "s" was drawn out in this word. The sound was a mimic of a cobra's warning, and my nape thickened like the hood of the serpent. The symbol of the devil. The slits in my pupils narrowed, and air, land, and sea came to an abrupt halt. I cackled lowly, not oblivious to the fact that she heard my command and witnessed the reaction to my voice. Even at a whisper.
"You're right. There is no equal to you, Aurai." I commented, a play on words of my own. Surely after seeing the lands react to my beckoning wishes, she would get the hint. But, at this statement I was serious. There was no other equal to her. None other that could neutralize her status. This was the double meaning, a brilliant one at that. "But surely.." I began, a promiscuous grin crossing my lips. "... I have an offer." Yes, I had trailed off from my original plan of action- but who's keeping track? "I do apologize for her antics, my dear- she is enraged that we have met." I was now jumping all over the place, but I was sure she could keep up. "My offer stands at, you joining myself and becoming one with I. Together, the sky isn't even the limit." I silently giggled at myself. What a hopeless romantic I am. "Averti, this will be your downfall." "No, bitch- this will be your downfall."
As she stepped into the now still waters with me, and touched her velvet muzzle to mine, I inhaled her intoxicating scent again. My scent. The contrast of our mortal colors, black and white, compliment the one another perfectly. Beside me, she appeared white as the moon. And I, as black as night. My dear, won't you join me in death?
