Long ago there were The Trials. Each horse, either destined to live, or to die, was judged on one fateful day in a dark period of history. With over half of the population having been destroyed, a handful of equines came together to start anew. Of all of these there were four alliances: the Aredhel, the Reapers, the Maethor, and the Concordae. And thus formed Apenbaring. Now, 200 years later, a new judging begins. A judging among the alliances. The land is split into two groups; the Faithfuls and the Faithlesses. The Reapers and Maethor, however different they may be, have chosen Faith. The Aredhel and Concordae have not. They rely solely on intellect, with only the reliance on reason to help them through this war. And although the Aredhel and Concordae have wit and power on their side, the Reapers and Maethor have dedication.
Having heard news of a rebellion amongst the four points, the Faithfuls are restless. They fear for their homes, for their kin. What will become of them if the Faithlesses prevail? The Reapers are gathering an army of great strength, but the Maethor seem to be doing nothing but living their lives, making the Reaper alliance frustrated. Slowly, the Faithfuls seem to turn against even themselves, and though for them there is no separation of “church and state”, they begin to slowly abandon their religion. Only the peaceful Maethor remain dormant, as the Reaper army multiplies rapidly.
The Faithlesses on the other hand have already organized themselves for defense. Much preferring brains to brawn, however, they naively ignore the growing army of the opposition. Guiltlessly killing off unwanted and damaged offspring, they are creating the perfect race. As their physical condition expands, they have not forgotten their true purpose: to increase their knowledge. This only makes them a deadlier weapon against Faith, though war has not yet come.
During all of this, the Crown of Apenbaring lies unclaimed in The Manor. The Holy Kingdom is empty, plunged into an eternal winter. Will a King step up and fill the throne, or will the allegiances within Apenbaring be broken once and for all?
